Lighter & Brighter Living Room

Ever since we decided to go lighter with our living room paint change I’ve felt better about finishing this space once in for all. But who am I kidding nothing is ever really done around here. I’m constantly changing this or that and I think that’s what makes it fun and interesting for me. I first pinned images of white and gray living rooms and finally made the decision to change the yellowy color in here to Benjamin Moore Moonshine. This is how it looks today and I love the lighter feel of this entire room:)

Hope you enjoy it too:)

Pantry Plans

I’m back and ready to share with you what you could say I have sort of already started.  I’ve had a love/hate relationship with my pantry since we moved in. It’s not a walk in pantry but it does the job. It’s front and center in the kitchen and with three kids it’s been hard to keep it organized. I kept a design file on what I would love for it to look like. Here are a few pantries that catch my eye.

But first lets take a look at mine…drum roll please…..

pantry before

I know very boring and unorganized. I would love some storage baskets and some containers to keep everything nice and tidy. Painting the inside would help too.

Now let’s drool over some pretty pantries. This first pantry is very similar to mine.

The Switch

Currently I’m on a romantic getaway with my hubby for my favorite day of the year. I’m a hopeless romantic so every year we take a small trip to Carmel By The Sea  for a Valentine’s getaway. Carmel is a very romantic coastal town that is full of amazing restaurants and beautiful Bed and Breakfasts Inns. So I wrote up this post yesterday to share the room switch out we did with my daughter. She used to be in the 4th bedroom addition we added. Here is that reveal.

Her room was located at the very front of the house and my hubby and I never felt too comfortable with her being that close to the front of the house so for peace of mind we made the switch last weekend to another room located much closer to our master bedroom.

Take a look.

The room color will change in a couple of weeks and a little more details will be added too. We plan on going in a whole new direction with the style of her “new room”.  I cant wait to share the new reveal with you:)

Wishing you all a beautiful Valentine’s Day!

Ballard’s Knock Off Mirror

The other day I spotted a mirror in the Ballard’s Design catalog that I loved for my bedroom above our bed. The only thing was is that  I’m a sucker for a deal so when I saw that my local Target was carrying almost a similar mirror but with a fraction of the price I jumped right on it. Take a look at how similar they both really are. They both have a beautiful vintage gold and chrome effect and who doesn’t love a sunburst mirror?

Ballard’s is $169.99

Target’s is $39.99

Amazing Weekend

As I write this post I am ending a very beautiful and fun filled weekend with my family. We celebrated my sons birthdays with lots of cake, family and friends. It was a long week to get ready for it and I was so tired by the end of the birthday party Saturday night yet that still didn’t stop my family and I from driving to meet awesome DIY bloggers Sherry and John Petersik of Young House Love. They had a book signing near my home in Northern California at West Elm. Let me tell you it was worth every minute of waiting in line. Sherry and John are just as friendly and funny as they are on their blog.

My kids and hubby loved meeting them too and they were so excited to meet them as much as me. Take a look at a few shots that we took of all the fun we had today:)

While we waited in line the staff at West Elm passed out yummy cookies and mini chocolate shakes:)

Paint Love

It’s official I am in love with Benjamin Moore’s Moonshine paint color. It really is a calm soothing color that compliments our living room well. This room gets a lot of light and so the color really shows light gray.  As far as design goes the room is not finished. I played around with pillows and moving some furniture around but it’s obviously a work in progress. But I am very inspired to finish it if there even is such a thing:) After so much paint indecision I am so glad it’s at least painted. So here are a few after pictures…….
