DIY Kids Play Kitchen

So back in March my hubby and I were walking through Sears and found what was left of the Christmas toy sale and for dirt cheap purchased the Kenmore washer/dryer and fridge for my daughter. Since they no longer had a sink/stove left I decided to build her one. Kids play kitchen sets can run you quite a bit of money so off to Home Depot it was.

I started out with MDF and the very nice people at Home Depot cut it to size. I glued and nailed it then primed.

I found little wood knobs at Michael's and painted them silver. The burners were chop sticks that I cut and painted black. I cut the sink hole with my jigsaw (not a very good job) and used a cake pan for the sink. Here are a couple of pictures of the finished kitchen. The grand total was $30.00...... just beautiful!

What a good job you did! Cherish the times she brings you a play dinner. Before you know it,they stop and just want to be alone with their friends in their room!

Great job on the play kitchen! If I had any kids I would attempt to build one myself :)

Wow...your good with your woodworking skills girlie! That is awesome and I would so prefer yours over the store bought ones. I got one for my 3yr old daughter on Craigslist. The woman actually gave it to me for free once she found out that I was using it for therapy (autism). Pretend play is an amazing thing, we should all be so young again and enjoy playing in the kitchen. lol
