Tufted Headboard

My bedroom has not been on the top of my list to design since after my kids were born. So for now I thought I would start with a headboard. I knew I wanted an upholstered one. With a little help from my hubby I managed to make it in one evening! Upholstered headboards have hit the design industry like crazy and rightly so since they are a simple no sew project. We used a sheet of plyboard to fit a queen bed, foam, flat sheet and staple gun.

I promise to post pictures of the entire room soon. For now I'm enjoying this fresh new look:)

I can't wait to see pictures of your room. The headboard looks great! Oh and the homemade kids' kitchen is super cute!! If I only had girls, I would make this in a heartbeat!

I Love it!! I am making a head board exactly like the one you made this weekend. Any tips? How thick should the foam be? I think the stuff I bought is 3", worried that might be too thick.

Hello Leona, thanks for stopping by! I used 2" foam. I am not sure how much of a difference 3" will make but I would try that out. I wanted some thickness especially because I was going for the tufted button look and I pulled the fabric tightly around the plywood. Hope that helps:)
