4th bedroom Addition

This will be a long post but only because there are so many pictures. My daughter needed her own bedroom because she was sharing with her brother. That got old fast. My plan always was to turn this “formal dining” space where you see the fridge into a 4th bedroom. I was so excited to do that because it would give us an entryway wall that was more defined. Who doesn’t want a great entryway to decorate? Please forgive the poor pictures because some are from my camera phone)

This is the house on move in day hence the mess;)

Here is the family room with some furniture and no where near lived in.

Okay so here is when we started framing and I could picture the room better. Some people have asked us if the family room feels closed in but it actually does not I think it’s because of the vaulted ceilings and it also is open to the eating nook in the kitchen.

Drywall was next and where to put the door. It was such a major decision because I thought I wanted the door in the hallway where the other rooms are. But my plan is someday to have my office here and have a glass door or a french door of some type to make the office feel more open so we moved the door facing the family room.

Now here we have the finished room and you could see where I did the board and batten entryway wall. It has been so awesome to be able to hang our coats and gear there. My daughter is loving her own space even though I still have to add door molding and baseboards. I also painted the entire family room Benjamin Moore Tapestry Beige it is a very soothing and neutral color.

Lastly here is a sneak peek into my daughters room that I am currently working on:)

I adore that painting in your living room I originally saw at Target and loved it but alas when I came back there wasn't a one to be found think you could give me the name of the artist or company?! Hope your daughter enjoys her space!

Well that was smart! great idea. your daughter's room is a dream. Wish I was that creative when my daughter was small. She's 28 now and I still try to make up for it. hahaha

Lol Jackie! The room is on the small side and my daughter thinks its perfect because it beats sharing with her brother:)
