Forever my kids wanted a chalkboard wall so when I heard about chalkboard contact paper I decided to try it out in my daughters room. A small wall space behind her door was wasted space so it was the perfect placement for it. I have painted with chalk board paint before and although I find nothing wrong with it I will tell you that contact paper is way easier and cheaper. I purchased a roll for about $10.00. I measured the area behind her door and cut the contact paper to size. Then I removed the back film to place the contact paper on the wall. I have no pictures of the process other than the finished wall. But I will assure you you cannot go wrong and it is way easier than paint and faster.
First I placed it on the wall and smoothed it out with a hand towel. Then I prepared the surface with chalk by rubbing the chalk up and down until it the wall was fully covered, this step is so that the chalk can go on and actually adhere. Then I wiped it off with a dry hand towel. That was it. As soon as I was done the kids got right to drawing and had a blast:)
Please note that our walls are textured and this still worked well and the chalkboard wall looks great.
Hope you go out and try chalkboard contact paper as it has many uses than just a wall and I am in love with it so far:)
